Paul learned his craft in southern Rhode Island on Narragansett Bay. Some of his early projects involved the restoration of homes in the Newport area, a number of which were listed on the National Historic Register. Having this experience allowed him to understand architectural principles and methods that he has translated into a foundation for the work he does today. Over the past twenty five years Paul has been on the forefront of innovative building techniques, utilizing well thought out design and sustainability principles. The relationship of trust and mutual respect that is cultivated with the client through the initial design process is essential to each successful project. As a past owner of a Portsmouth art gallery Hannah developed a successful corporate division. After selling the gallery, she moved on to work for a leading North Hampton design firm in the position of interior designer and marketing director. In 1993 Paul and Hannah joined together to merge their creative talents and experience establishing one of the first design/build firms in the area as Classic Building & Design Co. Each project is built on paper first, allowing the client to become an essential part of the foundation that determines the balance of the final design with the budgetary requirements. Hannah then serves as the hub for information and coordination between the field and the client. The tracking and communication on any size project is as important as the proper building methods.
